My stay at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen was enjoyable, highlighted by really good staff service that truly made a difference. While the food was decent, nothing stood out as amazing. I did face some challenges with beach conditions due to seaweed, and the air conditioning in our room was a bit loud at times. Overall, I appreciated the luxurious atmosphere and thoughtful amenities, but there are areas that could be improved.

Rooms

The suite was well-appointed with a nice layout, making it easy to move between the room and pools, though the air conditioning was somewhat noisy.
Service
10.0
The staff provided great service, remembered our preferences, and added special touches for my daughter's birthday, leaving us grateful for their attentiveness.
Location

The beach was disappointing due to significant seaweed, which affected the overall experience, but the resort's layout and access to pools were otherwise convenient.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were alright; the food at the buffet could have been better, but there were safe gluten-free options available, especially appreciated by my family.
Facilities
8.0
The resort's facilities were well-maintained and upscale, though I found the pool too deep for easy enjoyment with kids.

5.2/10

I recently stayed at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen and had a mixed experience. The service was excellent overall, especially from the staff like Raul and the entertainment team, but the resort felt overbooked this time. My room was clean and well maintained, yet I faced issues with negotiating reservations and amenities that were supposed to be standard. Overall, the beautiful environment and friendly staff provided for a decent stay, but the inconsistencies left me feeling a bit frustrated.

Rooms

My swim-up suite was incredibly spacious and kept very clean, but I did notice some areas needed more maintenance, like peeling paint.
Service
9.0
The service was by far the best part of my experience; the concierge Raul was very helpful and made my stay comfortable.
Location

The location is nice but the beach isn’t as great due to a long walk through the mangroves. I wish the beach views from the Ocean View rooms were better.
Dining
7.0
The food options were good, especially in the specialty restaurants, but the buffet could use some improvement.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were plentiful, but the 24-hour coffee bar wasn’t open when I needed it. Overall, they could maintain the hotel a bit better.

My stay at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen was an lovely experience! The luxurious accommodations and warm service notably enhanced my vacation. I loved the beautiful swim-up room and the attentive butler service, though I did find some areas needing improvement, like the privacy in the bathroom and the beach conditions. Overall, I left feeling relaxed and eager to return.

I enjoyed the spacious, clean room, equipped with a Nespresso machine and a nice balcony jacuzzi. However, there was a lack of privacy with the bathroom layout, which used a glass door and window.
Service
10.0
The level of service was really good, especially from my butler who surprised us with treats and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. The staff was always friendly and helpful.
Location
8.0
The resort is well-located near several amenities, though the beach was occasionally affected by seaweed. The surrounding area offered beautiful views and was easy to navigate, but some pathways were longer than expected.
Dining
9.0
I was impressed with the variety of dining options available and the quality of food. The highlight was definitely the very nice surf and turf upgrade at Olio. Breakfast, however, could improve, especially the coffee.
Facilities
8.0
The pools were well-maintained and there were plenty of activities available, though the main pool being too deep made it difficult for kids at times. The kids' area was nicely designed, but crowded.

I had a good time overall, with a few notable frustrations. The Family Concierge services were definitely worth it for our family, making dining reservations easier, and the beach by our area had some beautiful moments despite being affected by seaweed. The layout of the hotel was impressive, but I did experience issues with communication and some aspects of maintenance that could use improvement.

Rooms

My suite was spacious and had a nice layout, though the bathroom design lacked privacy with its glass door and window. The Nespresso machine was a great addition, making mornings a bit brighter.
Service

Raul, our concierge, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, but communication with staff was sometimes challenging, leading to confusion about our requests.
Location
7.0
The hotel was well-located, especially being right next to the pool and beach, but the main lobby and restaurants were a bit of a hike, especially with kids in tow.
Dining
6.0
Dining options varied in quality; while I enjoyed the Teppanyaki restaurant, the overall food experience was hit or miss. A noticeable letdown was the breakfast coffee.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities offered a nice setup and plenty of dining spots, yet I noticed some maintenance issues that hindered the overall experience, like a few out-of-order areas.

5.0/10

My stay at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen was a mixed bag. While the resort had beautiful facilities and great room sizes, the dining experience left a lot to be desired, and the isolation from nearby attractions made it feel confining over time. It was fantastic to see friendly staff doing their best, but I often found the food options repetitive and the atmosphere lacking a true Mexican identity.

Rooms
9.0
My room was gorgeous and modern, with great space to relax. I was near the pool, which made it super convenient to enjoy the amenities.
Service
8.0
The staff were attentive and friendly, especially the ones around the pool. They made us feel welcome and were quick to assist with requests.
Location
6.0
The resort's isolation was a double-edged sword. While it allowed for peace and quiet, it also meant limited options for dining or exploring outside the hotel.
Dining
5.0
The restaurants had decent food, but the selections felt repetitive, and the quality varied. For a five-star price, I expected better.
Facilities
7.0
I enjoyed the well-kept grounds and the various activities available. However, some amenities, like the spa, felt overpriced compared to the overall experience.
